Ms. Vinita Bakshi serves as the director of National Institute of Jewellery (NIJ) with the aim of developing and growing gems & jewellery sector of the country.
Vinita is a Sociologist and a development practitioner with a Master’s degree in Sociology from Delhi School of Economics. She is also a qualified gemologist.
She has taught at Indian Gemological Institute and has rich experience in jewellery related issues besides passion for social work. She has been writing a jewellery column for a lifestyle magazine and has been involved as a volunteer and activist in various initiatives aimed at social inclusion, poverty alleviation and women empowerment.
